Introduction
Speak not, lie hidden, and conceal
the way you dream, the things you feel.
Deep in your spirit let them rise
akin to stars in crystal skies
that set before the night is blurred:
delight in them and speak no word.
How can a heart expression find?
How should another know your mind?
Will he discern what quickens you?
A thought once uttered is untrue.
Dimmed is the fountainhead when stirred:
drink at the source and speak no word.
Live in your inner self alone
within your soul a world has grown,
the magic of veiled thoughts that might
be blinded by the outer light,
drowned in the noise of day, unheard...
take in their song and speak no word.

Sara, Peixian and Peiting and I had a great time yesterday at Ngee Ann City! After much indecision on our part to find the right thing to do, kicking out options like k-boxing (thank the heavens we didn't do this! :P), bowling, ice skating, shopping and many other, we decided on what Singaporeans do best: EAT!
Well, since stupid Joel wanted to MUG (of all people!) and Anna decided to abandon us, the four of us went to Orchard, where we had lotsa fun! I mean, when have you ever seen peiting walking in circles trying to find a toilet and insisting that she followed the directions? :PPPP
We went to an art gallery with really nice and expensive art. Apparently, my art tastes are too deep (hmmm, self-realisation!). The art was nice except for one really graphic 3-D one, which had a woman dressing in front of a mirror. When you went closer, she was naked. Creepy man! Of course, Sara was deeply enraptured by it, so well, so much for her art tastes. Wouldn't be surprised to see it hanging on her walls in tai-tai life in the near future!
We also went to the toy store I recommended. Well, the goons laughed at me when I said we should go and see it, but we really did have a great time. From the cute little girl in hr over-sized hat to the small boy with really long eyelashes, that place had really cute children! Wheee! We all also bought keychains for posterity and as usual,I spent the most time picking mine out. The shopkeeper who chided me during the Sutha and my Deepavali shopping comes to my mind! She practically screamed at me for being indecisive, calling me 'fickle-minded'! BAD service, I say.
The best part of the day, was our gossip session right outside the toy store. I learnt quite a lot of stuff, especially about our class. Deeply disgusted and DISTURBED about certain factoids from Peiting! After that,Peiting had lunch at Yoshinoya while Peixian, sara and I got pastries, given our hunger after having a lunch of bubble tea (Oh, btw, honey milk tea is really nice despite the fact that I hate honey!). Except for Peixian, that is, who had lunch. Not surprising, given her appetite lah. ><
Had a deep and disheartening of our dire academic situation. I think the title of this poem truly reflects how I felt during the entire course of that conversation! Sigh. Off to dinner with my -ahem- maama's family and my sis.
An oligarchy of inadequacyIs draining democracy from you and me
Did fear contribute to these darkened days?
Were voters really that afraid of gays?
Some thought it was God's will but maybe not
Some thought they remembered but they forgot
If they ever learned what these scars we earned
Really mean so they demean what they see
As challenging what they think they believe
They wish we would just shut up or else leave
Yet that which is best for us for them worst
Is that we who disagree were here first
A family known as Humanity
Bound by family honor to disagree
With an oligarchy of inadequacy
We ride an impatient world spinning very fast
It has a very short attention span
Only human dignity and kindness will last
With dignity let us be as kind as we can
A great many questions and the questions are great
Changing times are challenging and the hour grows lateSteven Curtis Lance
