Introduction
Speak not, lie hidden, and conceal
the way you dream, the things you feel.
Deep in your spirit let them rise
akin to stars in crystal skies
that set before the night is blurred:
delight in them and speak no word.
How can a heart expression find?
How should another know your mind?
Will he discern what quickens you?
A thought once uttered is untrue.
Dimmed is the fountainhead when stirred:
drink at the source and speak no word.
Live in your inner self alone
within your soul a world has grown,
the magic of veiled thoughts that might
be blinded by the outer light,
drowned in the noise of day, unheard...
take in their song and speak no word.

Yesterday was an awesome day, with us crashing Nik's house after our supposed dance prac and being locked out of it (Nik couldn't find the keys! :P), exploring he newly furnished house, playing with Jeannie (which Maltese can look so cute after being totally shaved? :D), tolerating Nik's instant samosas (better than the Stall 7 ones!) and playing Indian poker!
Ah, 2008 has been, to say the least, an eventful year. I played and slacked too much but well, I found amazing people, awesome friends, awe-inspiring experiences and plenty of laugh out loud moments. I shall leave this monologue to the very last few minutes of the year. For now, I want to put down some quotes solely to commit them to my memory (you can read if you want to!).
"The question that sometimes drives me hazy: Am I, or the others crazy?" -
Einstein
"Measure not the work until the day's out and the labor done." - Elizabeth
Barret Browning
"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in
your years."- Abraham Lincoln
"No man needs a vacation so much as the
man who has just had one."- Elbert Hubbard
"It has been said that time heals all wounds. I do not agree. The wounds
remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue,
and the pain lessens, but it is never gone." - Rose Kennedy
"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy
of life is when men are afraid of the
light."- Plato
"Nothing is permanent in this wicked world. Not even our troubles." -
Charlie Chaplin
"Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know
that. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be
killed."- G.K Chesterton
"Love all. Trust a few. Do wrong to none."- William Shakespeare
"What though the radiance that was once so bright, be now forever taken
from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the
grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find strength in what
remains behind." - William Wordsworth
